FF Franziska In-Use: Early Specimen
FF Franziska designer Jakob Runge put together an impressive type specimen booklet and poster as shown in the pictures below. The specimen goes a long way to show the versitility and usability of Franziska before its development work by the FontFont Type Department.

Back when my friends were reading Dune and The Hobbit, I was reading this.It’s one of the type books I fished out of trash cans at the advertising agencies where my dad worked. It listed every design available at one of New York’s many typesetting houses. Sober and loopy and everything between, all in tiny smudgy letters. I couldn’t say why these books were so riveting, but I kept looking anyway.
