62nd Annual Type Directors Club Call For Entries

The Type Directors Club is the leading international organization whose purpose is to support excellence in typography, both in print and on screen. Through their annual competitions, exhibition and frequent salons and workshops, they aim to celebrate the current stars of the typographic field and educate its future leaders.

They are now inviting submissions to their Annual Communication Design Competition and Annual Typeface Design Competition , the most highly-respected and selective competitions of typographic and typeface design from around the world.

Typeface Design categories:

• Family ( Single Typeface / Type Family / Type Superfamily )
• Competition ( Text / Display / Type System / Pi or Ornament )
• Script ( Latin / Non-Latin / Pi or Ornament )
• Design ( Original / Custom / Revival )

There is no separate category for student type designs. They should be entered in one of the design subcategories.

Extended or revised versions of older, previously published type designs are not eligible. This includes upgraded typefaces with newly expanded glyph sets in the original script ( e.g., with added Latin glyph subsets, design variants, small capitals, ligatures, swashes, alternates, numerical styles, expert, localized and historical forms, stylistic sets, ornaments ). However, designs that have authorized additions of scripts other than the original ( e.g., from Latin to Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Armenian, Thai, Han/Kanji, etc. ) are eligible.

Early-bird deadline: October 30, 2015
Final deadline: December 11, 2015 Eligibility Open worldwide to entries produced or published during 2015 . Submissions can be by anyone associated with the entry. Prize Entries selected by the jury will receive Certificates of Typographic Excellence . They will be exhibited in the 62nd TDC Exhibition , and appear in Typography 37 .

The opening of TDC62 will be held in New York City and will be on display during the summer of 2016 .
