There is no separate category for student type designs. They should be entered in one of the design subcategories.
Extended or revised versions of older, previously published type designs are not eligible. This includes upgraded typefaces with newly expanded glyph sets in the original script ( e.g., with added Latin glyph subsets, design variants, small capitals, ligatures, swashes, alternates, numerical styles, expert, localized and historical forms, stylistic sets, ornaments ). However, designs that have authorized additions of scripts other than the original ( e.g., from Latin to Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Armenian, Thai, Han/Kanji, etc. ) are eligible.
Early bird deadline: October 31, 2014
Standard bird deadline: December 12, 2014
Late bird deadline: January 13, 2015 Eligibility Entries must have been produced or published during 2014 . Submissions can be by anyone associated with the entry. Prize Entries selected by the jury will receive Certificates of Typographic Excellence . They will be exhibited in the 61st TDC Exhibition , and appear in Typography 36 .
The opening of TDC61 will be held in New York City and will be on display during the summer of 2015 .
