Det var under Kajsa Klaeséns utbytestermin på School of Visual Arts i New York som hon fick uppgiften att göra ett omslag till en bokserie. Hon valde att göra en serie med tre Hemingway-böcker, som alla har havet som gemensam nämnare. Samlingen kallar hon Hemingway and the Sea, och den innehåller böckerna To have and have not, The old man and the sea och Islands in the stream.
