Jerwood Drawing Prize 2014

The Jerwood Drawing Prize aims to promote and reward excellence and talent in contemporary drawing practice.

By showcasing the work of emerging artists alongside established artists, the Prize has helped contribute to the careers of numerous well-known artists over its 20-year history.

Only work made since January 2013 is eligible for entry. Artists may submit up to three drawings. The maximum size of works accepted for submission is 2.5m in any dimension, including frame.

The nature of the exhibition is to generate debate about contemporary drawing practice and therefore work in any media is eligible for entry.

Entry fees start from £12. Eligibility The Jerwood Drawing Prize is open to all artists resident in the UK. Prize • First Prize – £8000
• Second Prize – £5000
• Two Student Awards – £2000 each

An independent panel of three selectors will choose up to 70 drawings for an exhibition in the Jerwood Visual Arts programme at Jerwood Space, London and subsequent national tour.

Accepted artists will be invited to a private view on Tuesday 16 September 2014 at Jerwood Space, during which the prizes will be awarded. A full colour illustrated catalogue will be produced to accompany the exhibition.
