Wildlife Artist Of The Year Competition 2016

The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation welcomes entries from around the world in all artistic media for the Wildlife Artist of the Year Competition. Now in its 9th edition, this event is one of the most important in the wildlife art calendar.

There are seven categories:

• Animal Behaviour
• Urban Wildlife
• Hidden World
• Wings, Feathered or Otherwise
• Into the Blue
• Vanishing Fast
• Earth’s Beautiful Creatures

All categories cover all mediums, including sculpture and original prints ( excluding photography and film and electronically created artwork ).

The judges are looking for not only beautifully executed original artworks but also imaginative interpretation, moving away from the purely photographic to compositions with great characterization, showing imagination, originality and genuine creativity.

A maximum of 5 entries per individual are allowed. Copyright will remain with the artist .

Entry for DSWF members, 17-25 years and over 60 is 10 GBP ( approx. 15 USD ) per entry and for all others 25 GBP ( approx. 38 USD ) per entry. Eligibility Open worldwide to both amateur and professional artists alike aged 17 years or over. Prize • Overall Winner : 10,000 GBP ( approx. 15,500 USD ) cash prize
• Overall Runner-Up : 1,000 GBP cash prize
• Remaining Category Winners : 500 GBP each

Judging will take place in three stages. Prize giving and exhibition will be at the Mall Galleries, London 27th June – 2nd July 2016 .

By entering the competition you agree to your artwork being available for sale at the summer exhibition, if selected, and sale proceeds will be split 50/50 between DSWF for wildlife projects and the individual artist.
