Communication Arts magazine, a professional journal for those involved in visual communications, announces its 5th annual Typography Competition.
Their juried competition celebrates the best use of typography as the primary visual element in design and advertising, plus new typeface designs, calligraphy and hand-lettering. Entries may originate from any country , but an English translation for the jurors is required.Entries can be submitted in the following formats:

Ilen CityOne Limerick Design Competition

The Ilen CityOne Limerick Design Competition invites designers to submit designs for the sails and hull of a new CityOne performance sailing dinghy. Four of these CityOne dinghies are currently under construction through an innovative social educational programme.The CityOne dinghy is an exciting new performance sailboat developed by the A.K. Ilen School and designed by naval architect Theo Rye .

Design submissions should express and explore the CityOne’s dynamic, energetic, fast and modern clean lines. The graphic solution for these dinghies should be conducive to longevity of style, and be imagistically strong when viewed close-up, or at a distance in motion on a shimmering river.

Nuovi Mondi International Creative Contest

Nuovi Mondi ( Italian for New Worlds ) is the first creative contest promoted by CORTE , a new co-working space based in Rome born with the intent to join the professional and cultural world keeping a profile based on affinities of its entrants: a passion for arts, architecture, research and communication.
Participants are asked to express their perception of New Worlds through re-interpretation of a real place or the creation of an imaginary one. All creative areas are welcome ( art, illustration, design, architecture, set design, illustration and animation, digital art, audio visual installations, fashion, video art, photography, writing, poetry, technology ).Participants are invited to look for innovation in the visionary power, in the interdisciplinary work, experimentation, craftsmanship, critical spirit, the ability to establish connections from creativity .
