Variable fonts can expose any number of axes, each controlling a different aspect of the font.
This year, at the ATypI typography conference in Warsaw, representatives from Adobe, Microsoft, Apple, and Google presented an exciting development in typography: support for variable fonts in OpenType fonts.

Det föll flera decimeter snö i Stockholm, vi var runt 25 tappra som trotsade halka och snö och tog oss till Gamla stan för en intressant kväll på Café Mäster Olof, där STG ordnat så historikern Mats Hayen föreläste om Elsa Fougt. Hon var boktryckare under Gustav III:s tid och tryckte bl a Cajsa Wargs kokböcker och kungligt tryck. Elsa Fougt hade sitt boktryckeri i Gamla stan och en boklåda där böcker såldes – även illegala såsom ”Thérese philosophe”. Mats Hayen visade många intressanta bilder, bl a stilprover från 1700-talet.
